Annual Report : 2016-17
The academic year 2016-17 was full of activities at Holy Angels High School regarding academic, cultural or sports. There was not a single day when students were not challenged to put their best. In this stupendous year of Holy Angel’s Various recognitions and awards were showered on our children by various groups in the society. We are proud that again in this year also we were awarded as one of the best school in the entire Mumbai as per the survey conducted by the prestigious The Times Of India Group.
Excellence begins in the classroom where highly experienced and dedicated teachers along with their students create teaching learning process. Keeping this in mind workshop was conducted for teachers by various well-experienced persons. Smart class training was given to the teachers so that they can use the digital system and smart board very efficiently and can increase the interest of the students towards Learning process by audio-visual ways.
Parents of Newly admitted students as well as of 9th and 10th were invited for an orientation program so that they are aware with the day to day activities of the school. Our success lies in the trust and faith of parents. The teachers and parents together can create a better individual and can help in the overall development of child which we need timely feedback and co-operation of parents. Hence the PTA is formed for the session. Health is Wealth Keeping this in mind a free health camp was organized for all students and parents. It was aa Free dental, Eye and health checkup for all in collaboration with lions club, Thakur Complex, Kandivali (E), Youth Forum and Wockhardt Miraroad.
Keeping in mind the difficulties faced by the student because of the increasing weights of school bags we have developed a concise timetable. To instill the values of democracy and leadership, a student council was formed where different prefects, Head girl and Head boy were selected among the students.
We have been achieving 100% results in SSC exams since last 11 years. To reward and encourage our toppers our Principal Sir Mr.Joseph Sebastian awards them cash prices every year. This year also Miss Nidhi Sharma, Mast Gaurav Vishwakarma and Miss Geeta Rana were awarded with cash awards. Mrs Rossa Mampilly Memorial award is given to two best students from primary and Secondary.
Sreekantan Nair Memorial award is also given to the two best students of Secondary.
Other than syllabus for developing a strong foundation of the particular subjects and to emphasize on the subjects strongly we have also conducted National and international Science, Maths and English Olympiad Exams. And we are proud to inform you that our many students have won gold, silver and bronze medals in these exams conducted by SOF. In Mira-bhayandar Maths Scholarship Exam conducted by MBMC. one of our student Riya Chilbe Subhash from second Std achieved 1st cash price of Rs5000/- under the help and guidance of our teachers.Many of our students who are good in arts have given elementary and intermediate Exams which are related to art and which helps them for getting admission in college after SSC.
In overall development of a child sports are equally important. So to develop their skills in sports and to introduce sportsmanship among them Sports Week was held in which students participation was overwhelming. Manthan organized Interschool competitions in Abhinav Vidya Mandir in which our students have secured 2nd Place in kho-kho in under-14 age group. Mast Ashwin Singh stood first, MastSahil Singh stood Second and Mast. Vipul Tiwari won third prize in interschool chess competition organized at Abhinav Vidya Mandir Bhayandar(E). Mast.Vipul Tiwari won third Prize in interschool Carrom competition. Our talented Student Mast.Rohit Redkar won First prize in interschool Drawing competitions organized by Manthan and colors organization in under 17 age group. Mast Arnav Shevante made the school proud by winning five medals in District Level Karate Championship. Our Students has also won second prize in interschool dance competitions conducted by Colors.
Many in-house competitions like Handwriting debate, speech, spell bee, Rangoli, etc were help throughout the academic year and winners were rewarded for the same. Pre-primary is very important phase of a child life. It is the first time that the child steps outside the house. Keeping in tradition with our culture all the festivals like Raksha Bandhan, Independence day, Eid, Teacher’s day, Children’s day, Christmas and many more important days were celebrated in Pre-primary. To highlight the creative artistic talent of students we have conducted coloring, Collage, Craft and poster making competitions. The creative work done by the students was later on exhibited in the Art and Craft Exhibition. The school also have conducted science and technology exhibition where one can see the hard work, scientific attitude, team spirit and coordination among the students. This Year Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated in different, way. A rally was held by MBMC gearing up the Swachta Abhiyan. In which our students and teachers took part under the leadership of our Principal Sir took the oath to keep the surrounding clean. A very colorful program was put up on the eve of Christmas. On the occasion, Rev. Father Jitto Thomas Threw the light on the importance of education.
Picnic, was organized for all the students, for pre-primary, section it was mother-child picnic at Yazoo Park in Virar and at Farm Regency for the students of std 1st to std 8th. We have conducted study tour for the students of std 9th and std 10th at Saguna Baug at Nerul where they enjoyed different farm activities, fishing, and information related to different botanical plants and acquired Knowledge about them. A two days school camp was organized for the std 9th and std 10th at Silvasa, Diu and Daman where they visited many places and gained a lot of knowledge. To relax from the daily busy schedule, the Teacher’s day was celebrated by arranging a picnic for teachers at Yazoo park in Virar where the teachers enjoyed a lot.
